The first time Ezioma laid her eyes on Okwudili “Dili” Dike, she knew he was the man for her. It didn’t matter that they were both five years old or that Dili did not see her in the same light, she had enough love for them both, or so she thought.
However, instead of returning her love, Dili opts for her sister. Ezioma knew she had to let go. Heartbroken, she channels her passion to her studies instead, eventually securing admission overseas and leaving Nigeria.
Decades later, fate brings the duo together in Manhattan, New York, and this time Ezioma, now an American citizen and a high-flying investment banker, has the upper hand. Dili, on his part, faces imminent deportation, having been unsuccessful in his attempts to better his lot in the United States. An urgent intervention is necessary if Dili is to remain in the States and this comes in the form of a marriage of convenience between him and Ezioma.
As days turn into weeks and months, what is meant to be a loveless and convenient temporary union becomes much more. Dili must choose between his newly discovered love, Ezioma, and his long-time fiancée, Onyeka.
