We welcome submissions from writers across the African continent and the African diaspora. We aim to highlight the breadth and depth of African literature.
We accept a wide range of genres including, but not limited to, fiction, non-fiction, poetry, memoirs, and essays. We are particularly interested in works that offer fresh and unique perspectives on African life and culture.
Please submit your manuscript in a standard format: double-spaced, 12-point font, and in a Word or PDF document. Ensure your name and contact information are included on the first page.
For novels, we typically request the first three chapters. For short story collections, please submit the first three stories.
Also include a one-page synopsis of your manuscript covering all major plot points, including spoilers and the ending.
Alongside your manuscript, please include a cover letter introducing yourself, your work, and briefly summarising your manuscript. Please also highlight any previous publications or relevant writing experience. There are no strict length requirements for the cover letter, but we recommend keeping it concise.ce.
